Summer Skincare Tips

Summer is in full swing! The beach, the BBQs, the fun in the sun. It's easy to forget that one very important thing. Your skin. Here are a few easy tips to help you enjoy the great outdoors while still protecting the skin you're in.

Water: Hydrate! Our skin is made up of 64% water. It’s recommended that you drink 64oz of water a day to prevent dehydration. It keeps your body running like a well oiled machine. Try spicing it up a little by adding lemon and cucumber slices.

Exfoliate: It’s important to exfoliate. As you get older, your skin’s ability to shed dead skin fades. This can cause unwanted build up of dead skin cells making the skin on your face and body look dull and unhealthy.

Moisturize: This summer heat tends to dry out the skin, so it’s very important to stay moisturized. Use an aloe vera moisturizer for its disinfectant, antibiotic, and antibacterial properties.

Sunscreen: A good sunscreen is water resistant, SPF 30 or higher, and protects from UVA and UVB rays.

Sunless Tanning Lotions: Sunless tanning lotions are an effective and healthy alternative to achieve that summer sun kissed look.

Chemical Peel: Last, but certainly not least, an excellent option to repair and reverse any damage already done is a chemical peel. A process used to exfoliate and rejuvenate dry, weathered skin.

At Naava Salon and Spa, we offer a wide variety of services dedicated to bringing back the smooth, youthful skin you were born with.
